I believe housing policy should put Fridley residents first. That means keeping homeownership and renting affordable, encouraging responsible property ownership, and resisting the growing trend of out-of-state investment companies buying up homes, raising rents, and neglecting maintenance. It also means helping people invest in the homes they already own. My wife and I have benefited from the city's home improvement loan programs, and we've seen how they help families build equity while keeping neighborhoods strong. I want to protect and expand programs like these so more residents can put down roots and invest in Fridley's future.
Collaboration is one of my core values. My experience as a volunteer and coach has taught me that lasting progress comes from bringing people together around common goals. On the City Council, I'll work to strengthen relationships between the city, schools, community organizations, neighboring cities, Anoka County, and our state partners. By building bridges instead of barriers, we can share ideas, solve problems more effectively, and ensure Fridley has the resources and investments that help our community thrive.
Having owned a small business myself, I know that entrepreneurs invest more than money—they invest their time, their families, and their futures into our community. Fridley succeeds when our small businesses succeed. I will work to ensure the city is a responsive, reliable partner that supports local businesses and helps them grow.
We're seeing rising costs and property taxes on multiple fronts. Fridley must be thoughtful in both day-to-day spending and long-term investments. I will scrutinize every dollar we spend to ensure your tax dollars are used wisely and that we make responsible decisions to help minimize your tax bill.
Above all, I bring passion for serving our community. I believe leadership starts with caring about people. I strive to treat everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or beliefs, and to truly listen before making decisions. As your City Council representative, I will always be your advocate, always be honest with you, and always work to earn your trust through my actions—not just my words.
